Im a big fan of seafood pancake and Beef Bibimbap, this restaurant made my day! It was a very long flight for my wife and I from Tokyo and Taipei and on the plane I was craving Korean food and some good Richmond restaurants werent open when we landed at 3pm so we drove back to North road in coquitlam and  glad we did! Their pancake was nice and crispy and not burnt, Bibimbap was loaded with beef!!! yum yum for our hungry tum tums!

So Haenam in English means Good Friend. I came here with B and E for dinner. We all got our own dishes. I got the bulgogi. Definitely one of the better bulgogi I had in my life. It was stir fried with lettuce.

B got the hot spicy beef meat stew and E got the bulgogi and takoyaki. Each of our meal also came with soup and rice. They both liked their food. Our meal also came with three side dishes. daikon kimchi, bean spout and sweet potatoes. OMG the sweet potatoes were so good. I loved it.

Service was not bad. Each table had a bell that you can ring to call for service. Yes the bell is working great. There were parking at the side of the restaurant. Prices here were not bad. Very reasonable I should say.

Overall, I liked the food here. I will definitely come back.

Hae Nam was a close to our neighbourhood venue for lunch recently.  We arrived at the restaurant at its 11:30 am opening time, and parked in their lot out back.

Service to our table was friendly, cordial, and quite helpful to the cause when it came time to order (menu help, dishes, number to order, etc.).

We (threesome) ordered and shared the following:  corn cheese (listed on the menu as an appetizer) --  Korean style beef short rib (galbi) with hot plate -- deep fried chicken (ordered 'soy flavoured', received (and accepted) 'sweet & sour' flavoured).

Presentations were fine, though each could sure have benefited from some added colour, via garnishes and such, to provide and catch more visual attention and appeal.  Our thoughts on the preparations:  all side dishes were rather good (spicy, tasty, and flavourful) -- corn dish had a dry texture, and was quite flavourless - the corn looked and tasted like it was from a frozen product, the cheese stringy, and tasteless (some cream sauce or stock/broth would sure have helped liven it up a touch) -- beef rib dish was spicy, and quite flavourful - beef though, was a touch on the tough side, and rather salty (the setting or garnish of sliced onions was entirely too small, sadly, as the very small amount of onions provided, were sure sweet and flavourful) -- the fried chicken was cooked well, nice and moist in texture, overall, spicy, with a quite sweet and tangy flavour.

Dinng at Hae Nam was a new, first-time experience for us.  It was fun, and pleasurable -- we liked the restaurant (clean, tidy, nice table arrangements, music not playing too loud, etc.), and the good, friendly service -- but we just didn't "click enough" with the food for us to anticipate a return.

Tried this place when I was around the area. Not a lot of people know this place especially if you're not from around burquitlam area. The place is moderate in size and can support large groups up to 10.

Ordered the galbi-jim, japchae and deep fried chicken. If you've tried Sura's galbi-jim, I found this place's galbi-jim better but it tasted sweeter(to my liking). The japchae was very good and one of the best I've tried in the area. The deep fried chicken(soy and spicy) was ok and don't expect it to blow you away.
